ARS Montreal Trip to Cambridge, Toronto and Niagara Falls
On the weekend of September 6 to 8, 2024, the ARS Montreal chapter organized an exciting trip to Cambridge, Toronto, and Niagara Falls. The journey kicked off early Friday morning as 51 members and friends gathered at the Sourp Hagop Armenian Apostolic Church.
The first stop was Holy Trinity Armenian Church in Toronto, where the group was warmly welcomed. After a prayer service, they enjoyed a quick lunch prepared by the Ladies’ Guild (Dignats Miyutyun) in the church basement. The day continued with a visit to the stunning Niagara Falls, where the group settled in for the night after a long day of travel.
Saturday morning was spent exploring Niagara Falls, before heading to Cambridge in the afternoon for the annual commemoration of the heroic battle of Musa Dagh at the Armenian Community Centre. The evening was filled with the preparation of harissa, traditional music with Davoul Zourna, dancing, food, and entertainment.
On Sunday, the group attended Sourp Badarak, followed by the blessing and serving of harissa. Later that afternoon, the bus departed for Montreal, leaving everyone with cherished memories and a shared excitement for next year’s trip.
The bus rides themselves were a source of joy and camaraderie, as laughter and music filled the air. The group, made up of wonderful, warm-hearted individuals, kept spirits high with spontaneous singing, lighthearted jokes, and entertaining skits. Each journey between destinations became a celebration in itself, creating an atmosphere of fun and togetherness that strengthened the bonds within the group. The shared experiences on the road made the trip even more memorable, leaving everyone with a sense of joy that lasted long after the weekend ended.
