ARS Montreal “Sosse” Chapter Launches Empowerment Series to Inspire and Educate the Community
Inspiring Knowledge • Building Confidence • Empowering Community
Since October 2023, the ARS Montreal Sosse Chapter has been bringing together experts and community members for its Empowerment Series: a program designed to inform, inspire, and empower participants through open dialogue and practical learning.
This initiative reflects the broader mission of the Armenian Relief Society (ARS) to foster education, promote social well-being, and strengthen community life. By equipping participants with knowledge, practical tools, and confidence, the Empowerment Series carries forward ARS’s longstanding commitment to serving humanity, advancing women’s leadership, and nurturing the Armenian identity. Each session is not only an opportunity for learning but also a concrete expression of ARS’s goals: empowering individuals, uplifting families, and reinforcing the bonds that hold our community together.
Over the past year, the initiative has addressed a diverse range of topics, from financial security to wellness and professional growth, to creating lasting impact within the community.
Four Sessions, one mission, the series featured four distinct and well-attended sessions:
- The Elevator Pitch (October 2023) — A dynamic and interactive workshop where participants learned how to present themselves and their ideas with clarity, confidence, and impact.
- Unveiling the Truth About Perimenopause and Menopause (January 2024) — A powerful session that shed light on a vital yet often overlooked stage in a woman’s life. The keynote speaker shared her expertise to empower women with knowledge, resources, and open conversation.
- Thrive: Mind, Body and Soul (March 2025) — A holistic exploration of well-being, focusing on how nutrition, exercise, and self-reflection can strengthen resilience and help women live with balance and purpose.
- Planning Your Retirement (October 2025) — A practical session guiding participants through strategies to build financial security, optimize resources, and prepare confidently for the future.
Each session has shown the power of bringing women together to learn, share, and support one another. The conversations go beyond the event itself, they spark ongoing dialogue and create stronger community bonds.
The Empowerment Series has grown into a true journey of learning and connection. Attendees consistently leave with practical knowledge, fresh perspectives, and a renewed sense of community.
Behind the series is a dedicated team of volunteers, currently serving as the committee members — Nancy Apikian, Elize Bogossian, Nanor Manoukian, and Tamar Yaghejian — whose commitment and teamwork ensure that every event is meaningful and impactful.
The ARS Montreal “Sosse” Chapter looks forward to building on this momentum with new themes and inspiring speakers in the upcoming year, continuing to empower participants to thrive with knowledge, resilience, and purpose.
